Breeding quality fish for over 50 years

Trusted Tropical Fish Breeders in Australia

We aim to remain small, yet compact, tight and focused on keeping the customer happy. We produce, and supply, farmed Australian fish, aimed solely at what is required at the time. We are small enough to evolve with the customers requirements, and are always prepared to consider producing varieties that other producers are not able to master.

From humble beginnings

Starting in 2006

Fish Finatix began at one of its two present Australian sites near Woodford, Qld in 2006. We have since moved to the Sunshine Coast as well. We have an emphasis on many different catfish, corydoras, angels, guppys, and endlers in particular, with various other fish like rams, whiptails, rainbows, and cichlids. We continually adapt to species that customers require, so variety can change over time.

Expanding operations

Bespoke ceramics

In the last few years, Anna and I have expanded the operation, by adding a wide range of ceramics to our price list. We produce ceramics to our own design from beginning to end, totally unique, and all hand made. We fire all items in a large kiln on the premises. Our designs are borne from years of practical fish breeding experience, with every product tested extensively before reaching the market.

Respecting Australia’s biodiversity

Protecting Australia’s biodiversity remains a core part of the Fish Finatix philosophy. For that reason, every product offered is locally bred or produced, with no imported livestock in the range. This commitment not only supports Australian aquaculture but also helps minimise the risk of introducing imported fish diseases. While parasites can occur in any aquatic environment, the facility has remained free from major disease outbreaks for many years through careful management and high husbandry standards.

Quality has always taken priority over size. Rather than becoming a large-scale operation, the focus remains on producing healthy, robust fish at competitive prices. Customers have come to recognise Fish Finatix for supplying larger, stronger and healthier fish than those typically available through imported sources.

The ceramics range has earned a reputation of its own. Every piece is individually handcrafted on the Sunshine Coast using Australian materials and original in-house designs developed through years of fish breeding experience. Unlike mass-produced plastic or resin alternatives, no two pieces are exactly alike, giving each item its own unique character while maintaining the practicality and durability needed for aquarium use.
